Who we are

serThe Tema Shipyard and Dry-dock (“the Shipyard”) was established in 1965 by the government of Ghana during the construction of the Tema Harbour as part of the overall infrastructure requirement for Ghana’s maritime industry. It was originally designed to be the largest dock between the Cape of Good Hope (South Africa) and the southern tip of Europe. It is located on a 48. 45-acre land, adjacent to the Port of Tema with two docks (100,000 dwt and 10,000dwt) dry-docking capacity.

Tema Shipyard is proud to be the leading shipyard on the west coast of Africa. Having existed for decades, we have built for ourselves an enviable reputation by delivering high quality and timely shipyard and drydocking services in a healthy, safe and clean environment and at competitive tariffs. We also have been developing our people for the continuous growth of our company and progress of society. We believe that to achieve our full business potential and become Africa’s marine, oil and gas industry service provider we have to ensure, sustainability of operations.

Over the years, our operations have been directed at crafting value for our esteemed stakeholders.

With the discovery of more oil fields and port expansion projects in our sub-region, we have no option than to ensure irreversible improvement in our strategies so as to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.
